BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. — Spanish teachers at Brooke Middle School put together Spanish Culture Community Night providing students and their families the opportunity to learn more about Spanish culture.
The event included a taco bar, games, face painting, crafts, instruments and music all put together to allow kids to immerse themselves in the culture.
“We’re introducing them to the culture as well as the language and, I believe myself, the younger they are the more they pick it up,” teacher Renee Pinacchio said. “They’re like little sponges. We just celebrated Cinco de Mayo last week and we had pinata parties, so we wanted to do this for the whole community.
Sombreros were also given out to those in attendance.
